I am very pleased to note that thanks to so many very kind and generous people, the project has raised a little over £6,000, and we are now well on the way to funding the guidebook.

I may need to trim down it's length a little (cut my cloth so to speak) but it will still be a very high-quality bespoke book, with specially commissioned botanical illustrations complimenting ones produced by Tyley (c.1800), and historic dried-&-pressed plant specimens, text written by academic experts, and a fullsome history of the garden and the island from 1765.

Please do continue to share the information and donate if you can.

This summer I am giving papers at 2 academic conferences in the Garden, and by the end of the year will have written 3 book chapters on it, and penning a commissioned journal article to run alongside an exhibition about John Tyley. I am determined the Garden get the recognition it deserves.

This last week has also seen the National Rivers, Beaches and Park Authority in St Vincent and the Grenadines, who run the site, launch its commemorations for the Garden's 260th anniversary. These focus on the Garden's heritage and its connection with the history of St Vincent and its people; see below.
